Interesting variant of Gorchakovism

Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America

Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Jan 14, 2003 at 13:21

A couple of months before September 11, 2001 in Canada's National Post, George Jonas, wrote an interesting column.

It dealt with Russia using Gorchakovism as a guiding hand when it comes to foreign relations.

Essentially it calls for geo-politics to have an 18th century aspect of it, namely competing spheres of influence.

This column does an excellent job of augmenting that column.
