What?Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America Submitted by medianca (United States), Mar 18, 2009 at 14:27 Sara - you say many contradictory things. A few comments ago, you said that your country is fighting in Iraq and the people are clearly not grateful. Now, you say Iraqis are begging your soldiers to stay. Which is it? I know which one it is, the Iraqis are ungrateful that you are killing them. Brings me to another example: you say that Saddam was massacring and torturing innocent Iraqis. Why do you get upset about that? It's what your family was doing, and your borther's leg got shot off because they were defending themselves. There is almost always an offender and a defender in a war. the US has invaded Iraq and is killing its citizens. That means the US is the offender here. In WWII, one of your favourite wars (probably because it had some genocide and some good vs. evil propaganda), the Germans invaded France and Britain and Poland, etc. and killed citizens there. Are you going to tell me that the German soldier who massacred civilians for their supposedly dangerous religious beliefs and then lost a leg because the Polish Jews or whoever shot back, was a hero defending his country's freedom? No, you are hopefully smart enough to recognise at least one aggressor nation correctly in WWII.
