U.S. actually helped?Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America Submitted by Erika (Estonia), Mar 8, 2009 at 13:14 "...U.S. forces were the most instrumental in this victory, and that Europe was just the beneficiary. " *cough* I'm from Eastern Europe, The Baltic states to be more specific (which was the frontier holding back the CCCP (USSR) in WW two) and sorry but I don't recall forces here ever getting any help from the US. Yeah, sure Brits came to our aid and the Finnish but the majority of the fighting was done by 15-16 yr old schoolboys and veterans of the WW one because there were no men fit to fight left from WW one. Oh and when the U.S. finally decided to mingle it was pretty much like "Oh well let commies take the entire Eastern Europe, why bother." Yeah, great help you lot were.
