RE: who is funding this program?Reader comment on item: PBS, Recruiting for Islam Submitted by Martin Murray (United States), Dec 18, 2002 at 10:05 An excellent question. The answer, right from the PBS website:"Funding for Mohammed: Legacy of a Prophet has been provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Arabian Bulk Trade, Sabadia Family Foundation, Irfan Kathwari Foundation, El-Hibri Foundation, Qureishi Family Trust, and many individual contributors." Arabian Bulk Trade appears to be a Saudi-based construction and transport company. Can't find anything about El-Hibri Foundation, Qureishi Family Trust, or the Sabadia Family Foundation -except that google links them all to http://www.theislamproject.org/ The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a self-proclaimed 'philanthropic foundation with this ironic statement on their homepage: "We do not accept proposals to benefit specific individuals or that serve religious purposes." Ha! http://www.packard.org/ Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
