Proof that Islam has degenerated into Mohammadism

When you consider that Mohammad built Islam around theological critiques of the only Christians that he knew of for their saint worship, the way most modern muslims base their faith on imitation of the life of Mohammad amounts to the same thing.

Mohammad-worship is against Mohammad's teachings. Well, the best of them anyway. Nowadays 'insulting' Mohammad appears to be more 'blasphemous' than insulting Al-Lah [which most muslims don't even know means simply The-God in Arabic].

Reminds me of the teaching-story of a Persian sufi, travelling through muslim lands, who after performing several amazing feats was asked why he did not 'become' a muslim. His answer, as best as I can recall, was;
"If you mean why don't I become as good a man as [name of sufi saint], it is because I lack the courage. If, on the other hand, you mean why don't I become a person like you, it is because I would detest being so deceitful."

Where is Islam and where is Mohammad? - "Islam is in the books and Mohammad is in the tomb"
