How about equal opportunity?Reader comment on item: PBS, Recruiting for Islam Submitted by George McFadden (United States), Dec 18, 2002 at 23:17 Let's contrast this:- PBS, using US government funds, is airing a highly favorable documentary which verges on proselytizing, on national television. - Egyptian television recently aired a miniseries based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. - What do you think the chances are that an extremely favorable treatment of the life of Christ produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network would be allowed to be broadcast on a Saudi channel? Or an Iranian, Iraqi, Yemeni,Egyptian, Libyan, Algerian, Malaysian, Indonesian etc. channel? I wouldn't half object to efforts to enlighten Americans about the history of Islam, however biased, if there were some degree of quid pro quo in the Islamic world. Maybe my grandchildren will see that. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
