With all due respect.Reader comment on item: PBS, Recruiting for Islam Submitted by Amy (United States), Dec 17, 2002 at 17:21 With all due respect Mr. Pipes... The fact that a minority of " Muslim women today suffer widely from genital mutilation, forced marriages, purdah, illiteracy, sexual apartheid, polygamy and honor killings", has nothing to do with Islam and its teachings. Just as molesting little boys has nothing to do with Chritianity. Don't u think that the public need to know that. What purpose does it serve to keep people in the dark? This is America, not some third world country where people are played as puppets to believe whatever is required of them.Although many may sadly believe that "PBS has betrayed its viewers by presenting an airbrushed and uncritical documentary of a topic that has both world historical and contemporary significance", i believe that there will be an even larger audience out there in our fine and educated American society who will find it a chance to finally see something that isn't trashy and degrading about Islam.
