Re: Dawa on the BBCReader comment on item: PBS, Recruiting for Islam Submitted by Aymenn Jawad (United Kingdom), May 22, 2009 at 13:01 Dr. Pipes, it is worth noting that the BBC, a news corporation funded by the British taxpayer, had a similar recruiting program back in 2006 with a "documentary" (more like Islamic-missionary-propoganda) entitled "Don't panic, I'm Islamic" by a Cardiff-born film director called Nasfim Haque, aired on BBC 3. The tenets of Islam were stated as historical facts, the military aspect of jihad was denied outright (the director's aim was to get a better public image for Islam, rather than give a balanced portrayal of the faith). I lost count of the number of times she told us that Islam and Muslims were "cool" (it must have been once every 10 seconds or so). See Youtube and type in "Nasfim Haque" for more. Just imagine the uproar if the BBC, a supposedly impartial news source, aired a similar "documentary" promoting Christianity.
