More muslim propaganda by PBS

Reader comment on item: PBS, Recruiting for Islam

Submitted by Barbara Richardson (United States), Dec 19, 2002 at 18:42

Dear Mr. Pipes...Read your excellent article on the PBS Program, "Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet" shown on PBS Tuesday night. I thought you might be interested to know that here in Vermont, where the program was shown for two hours in prime time on Tuesday, It was followed with two hours in prime time on Wednesday with a rerun of Frontline: "Muslims" "Examines the fundamental tenets of Islam and the causes behind its current worldwide resurgence through interviews with ordinary Muslims from countries including Iran, Malaysia, Turkey and the United States".

Both programs will be repeated on the weekend, for the benefit of those who missed them earlier....and to me this is an outrage so close to Christmas..when they are showing The Nutcracker, The Merry Widow and "L.A. Holiday Celebration"....

I am wondering, was this second night of propaganda shown nationwide or just here in the most left leaning state in the country - Vermont? I didn't watch either program, but assume the second one was just as slanted as the first, if not moreso?

I've made my last donation to PBS, even though I admit to having watched Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery for many years!

Very sincerely,
Barbara Richardson,
