Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win
in response to reader comment: US vs Iran

Submitted by true believer (India), Apr 21, 2006 at 06:54

The upper castes in India do believe that they have descended from Aryans. This is supported to a large extent by the study of the vedic language Sanskrit. Kashmiri pandits and the Drokpa tribe of North india are said to examples of pure Aryans. But India has never been anti-semitic. It has never really been anti-anything. Jews had come to the Indian states of Maharashtra and Kerala and have always enjoyed the freedom and liberty that was enjoyed by others. Some of them have stayed behind till this day instead of migrating to Israel. So did the Persians (Zorastrians) who came to India to avoid persecution by wahaabi islam that was sweeping through Iran in those times. They have excelled in enterprises in India and worldwide, Tatas and Godrej to name a few. India never persecuted any particular religion as such, and never the Jews. It is a relatively peaceful and largely tolerant country , though there may be bloody riots once in a while. This is a country that withstood all invasions accepted everyone without reserve and has yet managed to retain its uniqueness.
