I can't beleive this..

Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win

I cannot beleive what you are stating here in this article and the previous one! It was quite difficult to read the whole thing because of my outrage! What you are suggesting here is that the Palestinians, and indeed all Arab nations are the agressors, and Isreal are totally in the right!

Who has the right to say who owns what land? The land has religious significance to both sides. And indeed history shows that Israel has been the major agressor. What about it's going against the borders by encroaching with the wall/fence. What about the attacks on Lebanon and Syria? What about it's defiance of UN resolutions? What about it's constant opression of Arabs? Look, i really could go on, but i think you get the picture.

I'm not totally supporting the Arab stance, or any violence at all. The point that I am making is that it is not a simple case like you state. If anything Israel and the US support for it have been more belligerent than the Arabs. History shows this quite well. The Palestinians have never sought for more land than within UN resolution 242, unlike Israel.

I know this point will get shot down straight away, and even critisised of being anti-semite, which is complete rubbish. I think though just looking at the facts and applying them needs to be done. Asking for the effective wiping out/defeat is a undefensible stance. As far as i know we are all equal and deserve to be treated like this. We all mourn when our children are killed, and bleed when we are cut.

Not totally in the right, but overwhelming so, yes. And the Palestinians are the aggressors, yes. That's my assumption in these pieces and my purpose is to figure out how to end the conflict.

For the rights and wrongs of the Arab-Israeli conflict, I suggest books by Alan, Dershowitz, Yaacov Lozowick, and others.
