"Winning"

Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win

Submitted by Noah (United States), Apr 5, 2006 at 20:17

What would you think if the entire "withdrawal" strategy is merely a move to allow a "winning" strategy to be executed upon? It's always been very difficult to operate a true "war" against the Palestinians when they don't have their own territory and they can play the cynical game of "not my terrorist." This game has been apparent when the Fatah leadership was "condemning" suicide bombs executed by their own "Al Aqsa Brigade" which they fully control. Meanwhile they can criticize the "Occupation Authorities" for not providing security.

Surely once the Palestinians have their "own" land (Gaza, parts of the West Bank, etc) to run Israel will have a freeer hand to fight, and hopefully win, a war like you describe.
