True victory

Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win

Submitted by Ian Smith (China), Apr 17, 2006 at 09:09

I read this article with interest. I disagree on a number of counts. First. it is not enough to have one's enemy give up their goals to calim Victtory. One must impose ones own will over one's enemy to be victorious.

Second, the Palestinian Arabs are not the main body of Israel's enemy. The Arab states are. The Palestinian mob are just pawns who managed to assume some (nasty) live of their own. Third, since 1945 Klauzevitz famous saying is reversed. That is: Politics is war by other means. Only under this paraphrasing does the winning of the cold war make sense, and explains
the fact correctly pointed out by Dr Pipes, why recent wars have not been decided on the battlleground.

Hence, the elimination of the manufactured "Palestinian refugees problem" will not constitute an Israeli vicotry. Even the migration of all Arabs of west of the Joran valley is only a partial Israeli victory. A full victroy would be bringing all Arab states to their knees, cry uncle if you will.

The way to achive this is two fold. First scientific. Israel must take the lead in research to remove the world's depndency on Oil. After all, this dependnecy is not a Law of Physics and can be eliminated. Do they have the clout to do it? Well, at least by reputation.

Second (once the first is seriously under way), Military. On the next opportunity which will surely come, Israel must physically conquer at least 2 main Arab capitals level them to the ground and leave (Alexander and Persepolis come to mind) Only then will Palestinian migration and absorption in the Arab world follow; not the other way around.
