Reader comment on item: [Pew Poll on] How Muslims Think

Ahmad Zafire, your argument is familiar to me but totally specious. Show me the Quaker terrorists? Show me the Buddhist terrorists? There is plenty in Islam that is evil - and that is the problem. Islam means "submission" and treats people as a means to an end - hence the concept of a "holy war", for which there is no equivalent in any other faith that I know of. Although Islam did "pinch" ideas from Judaism and Christianity, it is clearly illogical to say if Islam is evil so is Judaism and Christianity. If you pursue that argument you should not be a Muslim if it possesses no unique characteristics? As if Islam is GOOD (as you presumably posit), then so is Judaism and Christianity.

Muslims as a whole lack the wider education needed to have a logical and impartial discussion of these matters, sadly.
