Indian Media discovers Islamic Jihad

Reader comment on item: [Pew Poll on] How Muslims Think
in response to reader comment: Militant Islam again strikes in India , 60 dead , Hundreds wounded in serial bomb blasts

It is official now. Jihad is no longer a proscribed word for the leftist pseudo-secularist mainstream media. Shall we say, better late than never? 21st century is the era of body parts, in case you hadn't noticed.

In the meanwhile, let's talk peace with Pakistan. And we are willing to grant Indian Muslims reservations in jobs over the head of the majority population, whose share is even below 50% in some States; we are also willing to drop all criminal charges against them, in cases pending in the Courts. We shall withdraw all anti-terrorist laws, since they are so skewed against the Muslims. We already grant them massive subsidy to attend the annual Haj pilgrimage in hundreds of thousands! They can have anything they want, in defense of the Secular values enshrined in the Constitution of India. And to hell with the majority population, whose votes are split, while the Muslims vote en masse!

The politicians are all surrounded by gun-toting Security Guards, while the ordinary citizen perish like sheep at the hands of the barbarians, in what is an action replay of the 12th century Islamic holocaust against Hindus in India!

Global Jehadi Groups Find Local Recruits

[16 Jul, 2006 0315hrs ISTTIMES NEWS NETWORK ]

NEW DELHI: As India tries to cope with the aftermath of the mayhem in Mumbai on Tuesday, it is bracing for a sustained terror campaign designed to target an atomic power plant, army installations, prestigious scientific institutions, the IT industry -- including one of its best-known faces -- economic institutions like SEBI and infrastructure projects like dams and power transmission lines.

Scripted by Pakistan's ISI, the war of terror to be unleashed on India has the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as its spearhead. Though an outfit called Lashkar-e-Qahhar claimed responsibility for the Mumbai attacks late on Saturday, security experts say it's an LeT front (see report on P11).

The campaign against India is being bankrolled by Saudi charities, has a distinct Dubai stamp, and, most worryingly, involves locals.
India has asked Saudi authorities to rein in charities which have been doling out funds used to foment terror. While the Saudi authorities have pledged cooperation, India is still awaiting the results of the promised clampdown on charities, some of which, like Al-Rashid, came under the global scanner post-9/11.

"We have entered a dangerous phase" said a senior source, saying India had been drawn into a concentric circle of terror.
For now, the government has to guard against fidayeen squads which may have sneaked into India, as well as sleeper cells which have been reactivated. Terrorists have also started cultivating links with the underworld for help with logistics -- a function so far performed by SIMI.

What is most worrying is that terrorist groups have been able to net several recruits, putting paid to India's proud claim that not one Indian Muslim has been found involved in international terror.
