Thanks Sarah for taking the time to respond.

I am not saying Christians dont carry out acts as well - They do !. I am saying that on the whole they dont perform these acts in the name of their God. They have different motivations - just as warped. Your scenario of Timothy Mc Veigh was fair enough, however again -he wasnt perfoming these in the name of Christianity. The very many acts of Barbarism that people mention on these sites perfomed by Muslems are in fact done for religious reasons - or at least that is their excuse - shouting "allah akbar" etc as they act. I accept they are crazy just like Mcveigh & not representitive of Muslems as a whole but they do claim to use the Quran as their manual - their excuse - their guidance.. This is unique in Islam and leads people like myself to ask questions about the 'religion of peace'

Re Inheritance - yeah well OK - if you insist. Im not sure of its exactly so she can 'buy a new car'..not in Saudi Arabia thats for sure.

Capital Punishment..? Many countries including the U.S have executions.. I think its the modern day stoning of women in Afganistan for adultery, chopping off hands, slaughtering Chritisan school girls in Indonesia for being Christian etc etc etc (there are many cases) that raises eyebrows with Islam.

Illiteracy. You say its not Muslems but the education system. I would agree. So lets blame the Islamic governments. And further lets blame them for not separating Religion from education. Having young people coming of age knowing the Quran & nothing of science and geography and Math is wrong. Its ignorant and dangerous. Being able to think for yourself and reason is the greatest gift & Im not convinced that fundamental Islam is comfortable with that notion.

Mutilate the genitals of women ? you make a comment that some may go over the line & do this to "some strange women". Its barbaric, disgusting, backward & again folks - ONLY IN ISLAM.

You find yourself searching sites "just for fun". The site we discussed featured a Palestinian mother who murdered her daughter because - GET THIS - her son (yes the daughters brother) raped her & therefore bought shame on the family according to the Quran. So she killed her own daughter ..?

And again I would say that non moslems are VERY far from perfect. Horrible crimes occur in the west all the time - , but I dont read that Jesus or Buddha or Krishna said it was OK. or in fact instructs it..

But look - lets not quibble. I actually do believe that most Muslems are fine people. I will admit that I have my reservations with Islam - I just cant help it. I have read many pure Islamic sites as you suggest and they are indeed informative in that they give their version ...as they would. Its just unfortunate that other muslems interpret things differently...or literally - whatever you prefer. It isnt hard to argue that Islam isnt somewhat overdue for an enlightenment to weed out the medievil and focus on the very good that exists within.

You are a faithfull Muslem and I respect that. But my questions persist.

Thank you Sarah.
