Public Opinion in the Islamic World

Reader comment on item: [Pew Poll on] How Muslims Think

Submitted by Leonard Markowitz (United States), Jun 27, 2006 at 13:02

I believe that Al-Jazeera, the Arab televion channel based in the nation of Qatar, disseminates daily news of world events slanted toward their receptive audience. This new medium, more than anything else, now bonds the Muslim world together. Another modern innovation in the war against the West involves the use of electronic mail and the Internet.

The Muslim extremists have become very adept and sophisticated with respect to the use of propaganda involving the misinformation of facts to recruit Muslim fighters and support from throughout the Muslim world as well as naive supporters in western nations. Already, this poison has permeated the campuses of many western universities, especially those in the US. This malevolent propaganda from Al-Jazeera in conjunction with misinformation on the Internet has re-kindled latent anti-Semitism in Europe and an erosion of public support of Israel across America and Europe.
