Reader comment on item: [Pew Poll on] How Muslims Think
in response to reader comment: For B. Mustapha: And Muslim apologetics

Submitted by B. Mustapha (Nigeria), Jul 13, 2006 at 11:14

Umar(RA) once heard Hisham(RA) reciting some portions of the Holy Qur'an different from the way he memorised it. He dragged him to the Prophet, & the prophet asked each to recite. After listening to them he said to the both recitetions 'Hakaza Unzilat' ( thats how it was revealled). And Prophet finally concluded that definately the Qur'an was revealled with 7 Ahruf (7 different Arabic letters ie dialects). Or do you think Umar & Hisham nhave different Lahja of Arabic.Maliki means Allah is the King above all while Maaliki means Allah is the Owner of everything. Therefore, both qualifies Allah, the most high.

As for "ina hahdan la sahiran" which you refer to be Q20:63, seems you don't know the history of the compilation of the Qur'an. Mind you Qur'an was not revealled in a written form, rather it was recited to the prophet. therefore what the ulama did by introducing some vowels was to take people back to the original way of the recitation.

As for the plural (jami') of Nabi is it Anbia or is it nabiyiin, just say you want to learn, muslims don't conceal knowledge. Nabi is the Ismul Mufrad, while Ambiya is its plural. As for Nabiyuun (not nabiyiin as you write, unless if it is Muftuh or Majrur) it is Jam'ul Muzakkarus-Salim of Nabi. For more elaboration consult Alfiyatu bn Malik.

I refer you to some portions of the Bible, you said why am I quoting Bible for you while you are not a christian & not a dependant of christianity, then why are you refering me to the books of Patricia Crone/Wansbrough etc while I am not a Secularist nor am I aspiring to be an Orientalist.

Pertaining Aisha & Ibn Abbas, it is a matter of Mustalahul Hadith in which you are just a handicap.

Please my dear dhimmi no more, be humble so that you can learn from me & if Allah wish you with his guidance you will come & join us as a muslim.
