Reader comment on item: [Pew Poll on] How Muslims Think

Submitted by Tammy (United States), Jun 28, 2006 at 09:55

As it turns out, Nawab, the West is becoming more and more familiar with what Muslim scholars think, mostly via direct translation of their teachings.

You can find many of these at http://www.memri.org/ and similar sites that provide direct translations of speeches, teachings, and writings of Muslim scholars.

However, the result has been that the more the West learns of Muslim scholar thinking, the more it is clear that Islam does not encourage freedom, individual choice, and liberty as understood by the West. Thus, the greater the acquaintance of any Westerner with Islam, the earlier and greater the recognition by that person that Islam is not compatible with Western tradition or societies.
