It is pure eyewash that the Pakistani ISI is a State withing a State over which the President has no control! Westerners like to believe what they hear in this case, because the alternative is too damaging. For important analysis of the compulsions of the jihadis and their top boss Musharraf, very good analysis is offered at http://www.saag.org/. Offering additional military aid to Musharraf in the form of F-16s, for example, is counter-productive, and the same weapons can also be turned against Israel in a cinch, in addition to India. Islamic jihad has at last landed naked and in full viciousness on the shores of India, along with the hitherto (a decade or so ago) US laboratory explosive, RDX, which was first used by the LTTE of Sri Lanka to murder former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

The pseudo-secularists have vanished from the mainstream media for now, with information on sleeper cells penetrating deep into the remote towns all over the country and a non-appeasement backbone is in nascent formation, while there is a total leadership vaccum at the top.
