Reader comment on item: Anti-Muslim Racism?
in response to reader comment: when we learn to love each other

When one believes only one fixed thing, one is a monist. Monists are always in danger to become fanatics. The Bible is difficult to understand and interpret so it's open to questioning. Besides since Jesus it doesn't have the pretension to regulate everything around. Jesus has been evasive on many points and I think it was so exactly to allow people to act free. It even provides clear place for flexibility like in the clear separation between religion and state for example.

This is where islam and Christianity differ. The Quran is supposed to be perfect and together with the Sunna to regulate even the way one makes a s***. Besides islam wants a totalitarian theocracy, don't tell me lies about its adaptability to democracy: I've visioned a lot of islamic sites and they were all more or less critical about the western separation of powers and of religion from society. Total regulation and monolithism cannot coexist with decentralisation and free will.

They might share a truce for a time but they will eventually collide and destroy each other. This is why we will never be friends as long as we share the same borders.
