Reader comment on item: Anti-Muslim Racism?
in response to reader comment: DEAR ROBIN

By accident of history, Australia was, and still is largely a Christian country. I'm not anti-muslim, if anything, I'm anti-religions because of the division they cause and all the manifest evil that has been done because this or that religious group believes it has God on it's side. I happen to think that if the world was free of religion, it would be a much better place for everyone. In terms of keeping muslims out of Australia, it's a rational, non-emotional observation that everywhere muslims have settled in predominantly Christian countries, trouble has ensued. This is the case in France, Germany, the UK and elsewhere. We've had some very bad instances in Australia and more will follow as the numbers increase.

The fact is that Islam is so different from our Christian-based culture that it is, in many cases incompatible and is unlikely to be compatible. For example, the treatment of women, multiple wives, Sharia Law and so on ... the lack of democracy in Islam. My view is that if muslims live in any of the muslim countries, they will be surrounded by people of similar culture and almost identical belief ... they will be happier. If they come here, they will not like what we do and be unhappy and then begin to create trouble as they already have, It wouldn't matter if they were buddhists, if they can't fit into our culture and society, then they are better off going somewhere where they can. If you were a Christina, try immigrating to Saudi Arabia or some of the other more traditional muslim countries ... you won't be wanted there. Why do you think it is in Gulf Countries that when your permanent work visa runs out you have to leave the country?
