It's Not a Matter of Race

Reader comment on item: Anti-Muslim Racism?
in response to reader comment: You are not alone.

Arabs are in fact Caucasian, the same race as Australians, Indians and many others. I know many nice Arabs and many nice muslims as I lived in the Middle East for several years. That doesn't mean I want to live in a suburb surrounded by them.

I prefer to live among people who share my cultural values (whether they are good or bad). Every ethnic group on the planet would want that. It doesn't mean I don't like other people. If I wanted to be surrounded by Chinese people, I'd go live in China.

The cultures of people from muslim countries is very different. Islam is a religion that demands complete control and submission. I don't want to be controlled by any religion and I choose not to follow a religion.

It's not a matter of not liking people because they are Arabs or some other race, it's a matter of not wanting people in Australia who don't integrate and who agitate to have Islamic Shariah laws and cultural practices brought in that we don't want. We the people. We the taxpayers. We the voters.

While other ethnic groups integrate into the Australian community and make a worthwhile contribution (particularly Asian people), people who are muslim find it more difficult to do so because of the control of their religion and because our culture, values and society is so different. It's a culture shock to them to see women in bikinis, sex in movies, men with shorts, gambling, alcohol etc. I understand that.

People whose culture/religion is so different from ours that it is irreconcilable, should stay in their own countries or go to another muslim country like Saudi Arabia, Iran or some of the Northern African countries.

By bringing muslims into Australia we are setting the scene for violence and disharmony within our society. We don't need it. We must stop muslim immigration.
