Left and right join against Jews

Reader comment on item: Anti-Muslim Racism?

Submitted by michael burd (Australia), Dec 2, 2005 at 22:58

It is quite amazing that only the hatred of Israel and in many cases Jews has brought the far left and the far right together.

I am puzzled as to why is around the world the Left incorporating the academics, journolists, media, Trade unions, socalists, judges and many lawyers,United nations,Red Cross all aid agencies have taken the side of the Palestinians and Muslims /Arabs against Israel and the Jews { and USA}.

One would think it was "extremist" jews that had flown airplanes into tall buildings, kidnapped aid workers ,journalists and beheaded them and video taped the barbarity for the world wide audience, murdered Red cross and UN workers and blow them selves up around the world from Bali to London. One would think it was extremists jews that has caused world wide insurance to sky rocket and to inconvience every person around the world eg at airports public venues ,underground rail, foot ball games or where security is now required ..One would think it was extremist Jews who are causing world wide chaos ,inconvience and instability.

I would like an opinion from Daniel Pipes as to why does the Muslim world have so much support no matter what their extremists do and no matter how much the so called majority of muslims do nothing to stop them and in fact join all the leftys in advocating against any anti terror laws .

There are over 22 conflicts around the world invloving Muslims/Arabs against Hindus, christians ,Jews and also Suni against shia muslims, from Phillipines to Darfur .

Daniel Pipes replies:

it's a complex mix of factors that includes, at a minimum, (1) antisemitism, (2) the oil factor and other economic issues, and (3) the Muslim demographic surge.
