Riaz: You wrote:"What Islam DID NOT DO was "rape" the world. It was not a conquest like British Empire. It would be interesting to know why you think that is."

Its amazing that you think that world was not raped by Muslim invaders, although it was plundered and murdered by them. Obviously, you choose to ignore history and numerous posts by Muslims and non-Muslims alike on the subject saying the same thing. These readers have extensively quoted from Quran and Hadith in which the Muslim invaders were instructed to kill the infidels and take over their women as personal property for sexual use. I don't know how you define rape, but if this not rape then I don't know what rape is? Rape by any other name is Rape and nothing else.

To ed: Islam may have been spread in Indonesia by traders but the present day Indonesians have not lost the murderous vein as exemplified by several bombings in Indonesia and Bali, killing local non-Muslims/Muslims and the foreigners in recent yeras. So, it really does not matter, how Islam arrived in Indonesia. The converts still do what is taught to them.
