A meditation for Muslims: "criticizing Islam is NOT Islamophobia"

Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?

Dear Dr Pipes:

Some Muslims in a UK university accused a professor of Islamophobia. The professor had criticized the Sharia law. I have given the citation below.

Just reporting a news is not enough. All news about Islam's and Muslim's faults must come with a prescription and contemplation. I would like all Muslim and liberal readers to repeat the following mantra a 100 or 108 times: "criticizing Islam is NOT Islamophobia". The idea will sink in only if the Muslims say it repeatedly.

And, what good is a meditation without some reflection or contemplation. After the above mediation is over, the Muslims should contemplate upon the following thought: "Islam criticizes Judaism, Christianity, and every other religion. If criticizing other religion is not irrational, how can criticizing Islam be so."

This kind of thinking might help Muslims become better human beings.
