What does it mean?

Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?

Submitted by Howard E. Cook (United States), Oct 25, 2005 at 14:47

What does it mean when we hear no voices from within Islam coming to the support of the notion that a distinction can be made between Islam and "Islamism." ? Does it mean that the idea that such a distinction can be made is being projected upon Islam by an outsider? That Muslims do not accept it? That the notion that such a distinction can be made is the product of wishful thinking?
