Will Durant, the famous historian has described the record of Islam in India as one of the bloodiest. Over a period of 900 years (from the time of Mohammed Bin Kasim to end of Mughal empire), the number of Hindus killed has been estimated to be over 80 million. This is exclusive of deaths in wars fought between invading muslim armies and native HIndus. Such murders did not take place like holocaust over a short period of time. The killings went on over centuries that followed the establishment of first sulatnate in Delhi in 1999.

A look at Old Testament shows the obsession of Abrahamite religions with mass murders. Read Josuha's killing of Cananites. I need not cite many, this is just an illustration. Similarly, think of Prophet Mohammed's ordering killing of 700 Banu Kurreshi men in Madina. Refer to verses of Koran which advises slaying of unbelievers. I recall one verse which advises cutting off of alternate limbs: right hand, left leg or right leg left hand! Whole civilizations have disappeared under the onslaught of Christians and Muslims.

Who can now tell that Turkey or Afghanistan were Buddhist countries once upon a time? Does anyone have any trace of civilizations in South America destroyed by catholic christian invasions? Entire civilizations have disappeared. Even as late as end of 18th Century, in the USA, native Indians were hunted like animals by killers on horseback!

The Abrahamite religions hold human life very cheap. This is in contradistinction with othe religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Shintoism, and other polytheistic religions and pagan religions which hold human life, nay, any life valuable and worth preserving. Some amount of soul searching is necessary amongst the followers of Islam and Christianity: why have their religions inspired violence, and why do they continue to do so now also.
