Islamophobia should be called by its true name: Islam's fear

Dear Dr Pipes, I read your article on Islamophobia just now. I think Islamophobia is a misnomer. The right name should be 'legitimate fear of Islam'. I do not think anyone is afraid of Islamic terrorists. The true fear of Islam emanates from normal non-terrorist Muslims.

You see, most Islamic countries are over 90% muslims. That indicates that Muslims do not care much for any non-Islamic way of thinking. If that is not a reason for being fearful, what is? When a non-muslim falls in love with a Muslim, the chance is that s/he will have to convert and raise his/her children in Islam. If this unsymmetry does not cause fear, what should?

We hear the phrase "Islam is the best religion" more times than any other such phrase. If this phrase does not incite fear, what would? In Islamic countries practice and preaching of non-Islamic religions is prohibited but Muslims living in liberal democracies incessently demand more and more rights for themselves. If this does not cause fear, what should?

An illiterate muslim, waking up thousands of miles away from Israel and Palestine, starts crying for Israel's blood without much thought or consideration. If this tendency does not inclucate fear, what should? Nearly 100 Israels can be carved from Saudi Arabia alone. Still every Muslim in the world wants to claim Jerusalem for Islam. If this lack-of-generosity should not cause fear among non-muslims, what should?

I and you both are Kafirs, Dr Pipes. Our scriptures are either corrupted or outright wrong. If that does not cause fear among us, what does? Muslims are fighting a lot of wars of independence. And each one of them is to create a theocracy. If this should not cause fear what should? In the Islamic countries that should be oasis of peace, brothers are killing brothers like there is no tomorrow. If that should not cause fear, what should?

So Islamophobia should indeed be banned. We should discuss plain and simple the fear of Islam.
