True Islamophobia

Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?

Submitted by B Shniper (United States), Oct 25, 2005 at 16:49

Americans are afraid that a jihad against America will turn into a larger war. Is that fear justified?

Osama bin Laden explicitely calls for all Muslims, even those living peacefully in the West, to blow up the West. His followers considder him to be the definative voice of all Islam. Is it "Islamophobia" to be afraid of Osama bin Laden?

Saddam killed and butchered thousands and his actions led to the deaths of over a million. He was a Muslim. Is fearing Saddam Islamophobia?

It's time to take our language back. "Phobia" means irrational fear. And it is not truly accurate. We are standing up to Osama bin Laden and putting Saddam on trial. Looks like the rest of the world are the true Islamaphobes, too afraid of "Muslim Sentiment" and the "Arab Street" to contain immigration. And it is Immigration made necessary by evil corrupt government of Islamic nations. And those same nations refuse to stand up and make Islamic governments accountable for their crimes against their own people, their sponsorship of terrorism, and their unreasonable demands on foreign governments for "respect" of a hateful version of Islam. And how many people really believe that "Islam" means peace, "Jihad" means self-improvement, and "Dhimmitude" is a thing of the past? Noone. But many are too afraid to speak this obvious truth - out of Islamophobia.

If you fear Islam too much to stop it from killing your culture, that's a true Islamaphobe.
