Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?

Submitted by Tokyobk (Japan), Oct 27, 2005 at 14:41

I am starting to believe that CAIR and other groups that use modern minroty rights tactics like the term "Islamaphobe" are ultimately weakening the appeal of radical Islam and advancing freedom.

With the speed that information travels, the gap between how Muslims asked to be treated in the West and how they treat others and themselves in their own societies is very apparent, even to those who are not especially concerned about this cultural conflict.

When liberal minded people feel unashamed to critique Islam without taking that to the extreme of prejudice, we will be better off. I tell people quite honestly that I am indeed scared of Islam. As sad as that makes me, it should make my liberal Muslim friends even sadder.
