Miss Randa Ali:

In your response posted on the Pipes' website you state that the Qur'an has verses that describe the human embryology in detail hundreds of years ago. Here is what the Qur'an states about embryology:
Sura 86:5 But let a man but think from what he is created!
Sura 86:6 He is created from a drop emitted
Sura 86:7 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:
Do you believe that the above suras accurately describe human embryology?

Now here is what the Qur'an states about the sun:
Sura 6:78 When he saw the sun rising in splendor, he said, "this is my Lord; this the greatest (of all). But when the sun set, he said "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.

Sura 12:4 Behold, Joseph said to his father: "O my father! I say eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!.
Do you see the above Suras as a scientific description of the sun?

And here is what Muhammad says about the destiny about women:
Volume 4, Book 54, Number 464:
Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: The Prophet said, "I looked at Paradise and found poor people forming the majority of its inhabitants; and I looked at Hell and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women."

In conclusion Miss Ali, you need to be careful about what you allege is in the Qur'an as many infidels such as myself may be more knowledgeable regarding the Qur'an and the Sunnah than many pious Muslims.

Our understanding is based on careful study and not the rants and raves of Imams. One other point you should consider is that actions speak louder than words. The world is judging Islam according to the actions of Muslims and not the words of sincere, thoughtful and pleasant Muslims such as you.
