The prophet of Islam believed in holy war ( the Jihad).
He commanded his followers" fight in the cause of Alla " (2:244). He added " fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them "(9:5). And " when ye meet the unbelievers ( in fight ) smite at their necks" (47:4). Fight those who belelieve not in Alla nor the last day" (9:29).

Koran promised paradise for those who fight for Alla" those who have left their homes ...or fought or been slain,..I will blot out from their iniquities and admit them into gadens with rivers flowing beneath......" (3:195, cf 2:244, 4:95) Those holy wars were carried out in the cause of Alla against the unbelievers 5:36

Such war on and persecution of enemies on religious grounds is seen as as a clear example of religious intolerance.
Mohammad sanctioned his followers raiding of the commercial Meccan caravans. He himself led three such raids. Doubtless the purpose of these attacks was not only to obtain financial rewards, but also to impress the Meccans with the growing power of moslem force. Critics of Islam raise moral questions about this kind of piracy.

The above is only small part written on the motive of what you call moslem extremists. Read the history of all these islamic countries to know how fearful are these moslems.Once they have power in their hands, it is too late to talk about human rights or religious freedom or even your right to live.
