reply to alexReader comment on item: My Gloom: Back to September 10 Submitted by gary (United States), Dec 26, 2005 at 23:39 alex,i read your post and agree completely with every word. but lets take a look at the reasons behind israels non action. first of all, every major advance against the terrorists has been met with the word stop. and this word didnt come from the soviet union or china. it came from israels best friend the united states. why should anyone keep repeating the same actions if they already know the outcome will be futile. of course i will say that the neutralization of the blind parasite who called himself a shiek and rantisi did make hamas take pause. second, lets remember that the one thing us presidents are addicted to, and that addiction is worse then heroin, is oil. and as much as we rightfully vilify iran and syria, saudi arabia is the biggest financial contributor to terrorism on earth. and we call this depot country our ally. and bush certainly wouldnt want to insult his family friends the saudi royals. if the united states would have let israel do what was necessary instead of knuckling under to a subculture, i guarantee you, the terrorists would think twice. thank you Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
