Snooze alarm redux

"If there ever was a crisis, it is over. Life is good, dangers are remote, security appears adequate … sleep beckons."

You're right, of course, Dr. Pipes. It is almost like crying in a wilderness, and the dismal reality is that the next 9/11, or the one after that, will bring the long, cold 'sleep' to entire cities or regions.
