Reader comment on item: My Gloom: Back to September 10

Yet once again Mr. Pipes has hit the center of the target. His comments about the nature of the beast and unfortunately wimpy, blindfolded hunter who forgets how badly he was bitten by the same prey he now praises, is indicative of the exact policy the U.S. has unwittingly yet manipulatively forced upon Israel. The theme is evident. It is also reminiscent of U.S. actions after World War II and the earlier U.S./Iraq war.
1. Identify your enemy.
2. Hunt your enemy.
3. Attack your enemy.
4. Considerably weaken your enemy.
5. Assume your enemy is defeated.
6. Allow your enemy to save face by calling off the hunt.
7. Placate the enemy.
8. Praise the enemy.
The bottom line is, Daniel Pipes is right on the money. So what else is new?
