You called attention to the general failure to appreciate a major threat.
However there are other problems of equal or greater seriousness in thier impact which are also being ignored.
The Population explosion.
The end of the era of fossil fuels
The destruction of the environment
All of these interact with each other and with the threat you outlined.
You may lack expertise in these areas, but ignoring their relevance to the issues you do discuss dilutes your impact.
