How does that saying go..."Those who ignore/forget history are....?"

Recently, I contacted the person in charge of PR for the Empire State Building, asking if the person creating a lobby display honouring Faye Ray (of the original Kong Kong fame) would be interested in a poem I had written about 9/11, The Empire State Building and King Kong. For a number of reasons, it turns out, the idea wouldn't work, but what is important here, is that after reading the poem, the PR person responded that the event was too sad, that we need to be happy, and that it was now time to move on and to stop dwelling in the past.

Kong could knock planes from the sky, but even he couldn't fight apathy and willful blindness. I fear, as Daniel Pipes implies here, that this PR person together with all of us will dwell, unwell, in the future.
