Christmas Eve and Peace on Earth

I share with Dr. Pipes this nagging feeling that all that is well is not well. It's going to be five years since three thousand of us died and already the forgetfulness, the feeling of well being and its inertia has descended on the nation.

The wolves are out there watching and waiting and we must never ever become prey again. Every day brings with it new possibilities for another atrocity to take place here or in Israel or in Great Britain. Our enemies have not lost faith and neither should we. For if we do, it will happen again. We can count on it.

Vigilence is everything and not time or place will keep us safe from people whose lives are devoted to our deaths and destruction.

Heed the words of this wise man who makes us so uncomfortable that we have to think. Dr. Pipes knows of that which he speaks. He is right as usual.
