Response to Peter HanburyReader comment on item: My Gloom: Back to September 10 Submitted by Manmdouh M. (United States), Jan 5, 2006 at 13:58 Peter , You must have read the bogus fatwa of the U.S. Islamic Council who quoted a part of 5.32 , out of context: They wrote in their fatwa:"if any one slew a person -- it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people". If you read the whole 5.32 and then 5.33, Their hypocrisy and deception becomes exposed. 005.032 YUSUFALI: On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land. 005.033 YUSUFALI: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; I recommend you read Abul Kasem's article "Deciphering an American Fatwa"on faithfreedom.org. I am a born arabic speaking muslim (now an ex-muslim) and I know what is in Quran. There are three abrogated peaceful earlier ayas but 164 violent jihadi later ayas demanding to kill non muslims and promising paradise in return. Peter you have to remember , Islam considers all non muslims as guilty of rejecting Allah and his messenger, they never qualify as innocents. According to quran they must be killed (9.5) and Allah guarantees Paradise for slaying and being slain for Allah (9.111) Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
