ncomprehensible lack of concern about the threat

I consistently share your opinions, so I too am dismayed that those of us who want to take the Islamic threat seriously are losing the war of ideas with those that incomprehensibly don't perceive substantial threat. Could the senators from Massachusetts really be that thick, or do they knowingly play politics with our security? Another pathetic recent development is today's news "Germany frees jailed Hezbollah man wanted by US". Perhaps even worse, I doubt this will create much outrage, or waves in our relations with Germany. Since Germany (and Europe in general) won't extradite anyone who may receive the death penalty, they end up refusing to extradite the most dangerous criminals the US wants extradited. Europe stands against potential death for killers, yet readily releases Hammadi, in his 30's, who certainly has the time, and very likely, the inclination, to commit mass murder. Is the policy defend the killers rights and don't worry about future mass casualties? Mr. Hammadi was arrested in Frankfurt in 1987 with explosives in his luggage, confessed to a hijacking, and apparently executed a U.S. Navy diver. This release reminds me of the perverted justice in much of the Muslim world where, influenced by Shari' a, killers frequently receive light sentences claiming their acts were the result of their carrying out their religious duty of jihad. On the other hand, adulterers can receive the death sentence. The Patriot Act is bogged down in Congress, Hammadi is released in Germany -- does John Kerry et. al. and UNenlightened Europe believe the role of government is to protect the freedom and liberty of murderers or to provide for the safety of its citizenry?
