Recent changes regarding *677Reader comment on item: My Gloom: Back to September 10 Submitted by Lance Corporal Matthew Reed USMC (United States), Mar 5, 2006 at 14:25 I recently became aware of the fact that many State police agencies are no longer using *677 as the direct line to their Emergency Dispatch centers. Many now have their own direct numbers now. So, it would probably be quicker for a female passenger to just dial 0 on a cell phone and have the Operator giver the number to, or connect her to, the Emergency Dispatch center for the State Police Force of whatever state she is flying out of. Since the airport police are a division of local or city police agencies, calling the State Police to report a sexual assault would help ensure that something actually gets done as far as a sexual assault investigation, since they can override the local cops if need be. I hope this help a little more.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
