I categorically deny this baseless propaganda that Pakistani women are suppressed. Women are suppressed in every society to some extent. I was born and raised in Pakistan with a joint family system and had as much freedom as anyone. I completed my MA in literature last year and am a teacher in a College. 1/3rd of all political/government institutions in Pakistan are required by the law to be comprised of women so there are more women in powerful positions in pakistan than in other asian countries.

The article written by Daniel Pipes is succinct and honest. It tells us that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although I have been Musharraf's harsh critic but I appreciate his speech to WJC because I feel there are misunderstandings between muslims and jews which have been created by a section of people who dont want to see them together. Basically Muslims and Jews have always been in the same boat.. victims. It is high time that they understand and think deeply about their future and not destroy the lives of our future generations. Economics can come and go but main thing is 'hate' shouldnt be there. We must teach our children to respect our civilizations because Islam and Judaism have same roots. Long-term objective must be to live together because Jews and Muslims will have to live side by side so better to live with happiness and peace rather than hate and mistrust. We must remove the small misudnerstandings that are mostly false and hinder peace.
