But Will His Successor Be of the Same Mind?

Reader comment on item: Musharraf's Historic Speech

Submitted by Yehoshua Zeller (United States), Sep 22, 2005 at 17:07

While Mr. Musharaff seems to be of one mind, would any successor be of the same mind? Remember that Abdul Qadir Khan (father of the Pakistani Nuclear Bomb) has had many Arab nations very interested in having contact with his program. With all the sales to Syria of newer and improved missiles , Mr. Khan would be most valuable to Syria and its many state-sponsored terrorists ( Islamic soldiers) groups which could easily eliminate Israel and control the Middle East and its oil . And oil controls the West (Europe and America, as you know). So I wouldn't hold my breath too long as the Islamic soldiers have tried to assassinate Mr. Musharaff before.
A more secure solution would be to find a solution so Mr. Khan won't have to co-operate with his Islamic "soldier friends" or Syria as he would have little or no choice in the matter either. Moral Dilemma 101.
