What has India got to with an Islamic-Jewish dialog?

Reader comment on item: Musharraf's Historic Speech

Mr. Gilbert:

I take your comment at face value and therefore offer an explanation of what India has to do with a Jewish Islamic dialog. For starters, OBL and many radicals in Pakistan view the US, Israel and India as a triumvirate of evil to be destroyed. Secondly, India was dragged into it by muslim readers of the forum. While on the subject of enlightenment - few if any pakistanis (in Pakistan) have ever set eyes on a Jewish person but hatred for Israel is reflexive making any moves by Musharraf a dangerous one in theory. However, with an iron clad grip on the country, the military has never faced any serious threat to its authority even when ostensible civilian governments have been in power.

Lastly, a quick review of regional political currents will inform the layperson that anything the Pakistani military does in response to perceived threats from India. India established relations with Israel in 1994 and the Pakistanis fear a pincer grip between India and a new formed alliance of sorts (entirely imaginary) between the US and Israel. So, Mr. Gilbert, wake up and smell the coffee, it will offer some insights on the devious history of the pakistani military that spans nearly six decades of fraud, murder and chicanery.
