Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace
in response to reader comment: Two sides of coin

I am not surprised to see the comments of Mr Rick. He is totally misinformed about reality of christians in India. Not a single instance has come out where Hindus have destroyed Church or targeted christians. Whatever situation missionaries are facing due to restlessness of those communities where they are indulged in proslytization.

Mr Rick has equated Hindus with radical Islam which is really objectionable. No other culture has given so much respect to christianity as we Hindus. In the Kerala state of India first Syrian church was established. Still christians have equal say in our political system.

In 1998 when BJP government come in power some people started false propagnda in western countries as Christianity is in danger in India and Hindus have got fanatic. That propagnda was baseless and mischevious. During that period lot of fake stories were created as destruction of churches and attacks on missionaries.

The real problem that should be considered is Hindus do not believe in proslytization. They believe in co-existence but christian missionaries in India try to convert tribals. First they propose some humanitarian services which make them popular among tribals but when they try to convert people there is resistance come from same community which feel as they were diched.

Mr Rick I hope you to be a rationalist to try to feel things from our point of view also.

If Hindus would have behaved the Christians the same manner in which Islamists behaving in Islamic countries it was very difficult for christian missionaries to run their service projects and survive with their daily prayers in churches in India. A few days ago a christian cricket player of Pakistan was forced to convert in Islam. From last year he was banned from advertisements in pakistan and was replaced from vice captainship only because he was christian. Can you give me any instance of discrimination by Hindus in name of religion. In india many players are christians, and Hindus feel pride for them.

Your concern would have been genuine if it has happened. If missionaries do not indulge in proslytization there is no problem at all, but your general statement for Hindus is totally emotional which you delivered without going into detail. Hindu do not boast about superiority of their religion. Hindus have been denounced worlwide by semitic religions as religion of Satan but they never objected to it. They never destroyed world trade centre bcause it is country of those who do not follow their dictums. They never bombed London because of its christian nature. They never divided humanity between believers and non believers. They never declared that christians living among Hindus will be "Dhimmi".

Hindus believe every creature on this earth is manifestation of Almighty so we see Mr Rick also as part of Almighty, so it is unjustice to us Hindus to equate us with radical islam. How can you do this on few manipulated instances.

Today every corner of this world is facing jihad. In every country where muslims live, some part of their population is creating nuisance. please tell me one instance of any country of world where Hindus have revolted against the state . In several countries they were denied their fundamental rights because of their race and religion as in Fiji. Can you deny the role of methodist church in the coup of Indian based Mahendra choudhary.

Can you tell me a single instance in world history when Hindus fought any religious war as was crusade and jihad.

We Hindus have great sympathy for the sufferings of Jews in Israel and christians in west from Islamists, but it looks as you are more concerned in portraying Hindus in bad picture rather than combatting jihad. I posted my comment only to reflect sentiments of my fellow Hindus towards western world. We do not fear them because we facing them from last thousand years and know how to tackle them.

The world is going towards a transition phase where every victim culture of Jihad has challenge before them to come together to fight jointly against violent jihad. This is not the appropriate time of blame game. Hindus want to collaborate with western world not because of fear but for the shake of humanity. But false propaganda against Hindus will derail this process.
