Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace
in response to reader comment: True Nature of Islam

Submitted by Cotterall Adams (Canada), Jun 3, 2007 at 03:29

I think this is a welcome gesture showing tolerance, really, in the face of adversity. I do worry about the effects of militancy and it seems to be happening a lot, but I don't connect it to the average Muslim at all. It is a problem related to certain fringe groups engaging in political-cultural radicalism. It is really not about the Koran and how can I or anyone else claim to be an expert when a translation in another language is not considered accurate? From what I have heard, it has to be read and understood in Arabic, which is a difficult, fluid, metaphorical language. thanks for the effort.
