Question for ShaziaReader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace Submitted by Walter (Canada), Sep 22, 2005 at 14:42 Oh Shazia, I surely love your postings, as they are so insightful and revealing. If I thought I could convince Dr. Pipes, I would plead with him to let you become a co-author to this website. In your post of Sept 22, you revealed that, "there is no universal applicability to the Qur'an" and, "the secondary sources, the hadith and sura have revealed plenty of holes in them". Since Allah through the angel Gabriel transmitted the Qur'an to Muhammad, having Muhammad memorize every word, (since he could neither read or write) who messed up here? Is it Allah, Gabriel or Muhammad? The obvious conundrum is, why is it that 1.8 billion Muslims base their faith on a book with no universal applicability and of questionable authority, and on the basis of this book, try to impose their faith on others? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
