Confused Christian Churches

Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace

Submitted by Dvora (United States), Sep 13, 2005 at 18:58

I should be surprised at this recent turn of events amongst Christian Churches, but I am not.

Sadly, so many of them are misled by Leaders within their own Congregations. One Christian announced to us, during an Interfaith gathering, that every time she hears of Jews being slaughtered in Israel by a Suicide Bomber, she is elated because her "Messiah" is coming! To be that callous, as to celebrate the slaughter of innocent people, should not be a religious requirement. I am not aware it is, but for this particular person.

I would be most concerned that, as we await the arrival of the Jewish Messiah, that I or we haven't done everything we should, because to me, all life is precious. .... When a Suicide Bomber implodes anywhere in the World, I grieve, because I realize how it must cause grief, and of course, to the victims and the families of victims. To all that know the victims, and I grieve because someone on two legs, who looks human, but lacks accountability for the mass slaughter they commit, because they have captured the sympathies of anti-Semites all over the World. This is History repeating itself, because in Germany, many Churches condoned the Holocaust until, of course, they came for them, and their Churches and their possessions and personal freedoms.

Just as they are doing to the Christians in the Holy Land, Islamist Fundamentalists are chipping away at the personal and religious freedoms of Americans, with few voices being raised while the Christian religion is being pomulgated in the Press, and in American Government. Christians are being disinfranchised in America, but pushing Israel and innocent Israeli's into the bloodbath Arena, to disengage themselves from it, will not protect their slipping freedoms at the hands of Islamists who are intolerant of them and their beliefs.

Christians have forgotten their History, and Jews who stood by them when injustice took the American Arena by storm, in the Civil Rights Era. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an avid Zionist. He religiously and intellectually, believed in Israel's right to exist, but that was more than 40 years ago. Today, Christians would rather be Ostrich's, attend Conferences with Islamists who blatantly lie to them while they chip away at the Freedoms lost in America for religious tolerance except for Islam, the "Pieceful" Religion, that teaches racism, Fascism, unacceptance/intolerance for the diversity of religion which America used to be known for.

Bon Appetite Mon Capitain because it will not work and it shows you have lost the battle.

I believe in fighting back and ferociously.

Thank you Dr. Pipes for writing this timely and truthfully realistic article.
