Acrimony against USA

Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace

Submitted by Joseph Wechsler (United States), Sep 13, 2005 at 17:40

Acrimony against USA was not triggered by the war in Iraq, but by pure unadulterated envy. And it is more virulent in Western Europe because that place used to be the leader of the world until it proved incapable of preventing bouts of megalomania. People there identify with the German anthem "Deutschland Ueber Alles", substituting the name of their own nation in that song. They have lots of reasons to do so, one of them being that it is actually true. Instead of vilifying the USA, they had better imitate the USA.
